Chocolate Sundae Sauce

ingredients
  • ¾ cup sugar

  • ⅓ cup Hershey’s cocoa

  • 3 tbs cornstarch

  • ¼ cup water

  • ¼ cup light corn syrup

  • ¼ cup butter

  • 1 tsp vanilla

directions

Combine sugar, cocoa, and cornstarch in a heavy I-quart saucepan. Add water and corn syrup; stir to blend. Cook and stir over medium. heat until mixture boils; reduce heat to low and boil for 5 minutes. Stir in butter and vanilla. Serve warm or refrigerate for later use; reheat in a saucepan over low heat. Makes about 1 ¼ cups sauce.
