On August 4th, 1946, Sharon Smith Bennett graced this world.
Sharon wore many hats throughout her God-given life and styled them to the fullest. She was fondly known as Mom, Sissy, Mema, or Aunt Sherry by the roots she planted. One of her greatest passions was to bring people together, preferably involving food, for obvious reasons of course. The art of a shared meal was something she admired. Whether that was demonstrated through hosting a bridal shower or family dinner, she allowed meals to hold such importance.
Cherri formed as a spin-off of Sharon’s nickname, “Sherry.” Cherri’s dreams serve to provide a space for community within meals. Love is the Cherri on top of cooking and is mixed into every recipe here. This website is the host of all of Sharon Bennett’s recipes. Most recipes originated in Southern Living cookbooks from 1981-1982. Sharon filled these books with her renditions and original recipes scribbled through the pages. We hope you may find a new recipe or two and make your own traditions as Sharon did in her lineage.
