Brandied Fruit

ingredients
  • 1 lb can sliced peaches

  • 1 lb can pineapple chunks

  • 1 10 oz jar maraschino cherries

  • 3 cups sugar 

  • 1 cup brandy

directions
  • Buy good quality firm fruit. During first week put drained peaches, 1 cup brandy, and 1 cup of sugar in a large jar and let stand for 1 week, stirring daily. 

  • Second week add drained pineapple and 1 cup sugar. Letting it stand for a week, stirring daily. Third week add drained cherries and 1 cup sugar, let stand for another week to ferment, and stir daily.\

  • To replenish, add a can of drained fruit and 1 cup of sugar for each can of fruit in the same order as above, stirring daily. Always drain fruit and always add 1 cup of sugar with each can of fruit. More brandy may be added if a stronger brandy flavor is desired.
